Meet the Team Behind the Conti Urban HA 5 NXT
Innovation happens when passionate people come together with a shared vision. For the development of the Conti Urban HA 5 NXT, colleagues from different functions collaborated closely to create what is now our most sustainable bus tire. We spoke with three team members about the project, the challenges they faced, and what makes this achievement so special.
What is the name of your project?
Eda: “Our Project is Conti Urban HA 5 NXT, a bus tire developed with a strong focus on sustainability aspects.”
How would you descripe your project in simple terms?
Michael: “It’s our bus tire with the highest share of renewable as well as certified materials.”
What challenges does your project address?
Alejandro: “The biggest challenge is how to improve the tire’s sustainability-related characteristics, without compromising other performance requirements.
What makes this project special or innovative in your view?
Eda: “We anticipated the need of our customers even before the industry was requesting it and it was a very innovative and visionairy project.”
What was the biggest challenge and how did you overcome it as a team?
Alejandro: “There is no individual challenge. We`re talking about completely new standards, completely new materials, new certifications. So challenges came week to week and I think the key here is how did we solve that together as a team.
Michael: “And what also was our credo is, that we just take challenges as topics that just needs more attention.”
Why is this project a good example of how we work at Continental?
Michael: “We love to challenge ourselves and to set new standards within the team and within the topics that we are working on.”
Alejandro: “There was nothing that we believed that was impossible. So at the end that why I believe we were able to achieve what we achieved.”
