Renault's New R5 on Tires from Continental
- All-electric new edition of the cult classic will be delivered from the factory on
EcoContact 6 Q with special OE tire identification “R” - Worldwide original equipment approval for the 18-inch tire dimension
- Tires are particularly noise-optimized and have low rolling resistance
Hanover, Germany, June 6, 2025. The new Renault 5 E-Tech Electric runs on EcoContact 6 Q summer tires from Continental from the factory on. In the 18-inch size, the tire manufacturer equips the all-electric new edition of the cult classic. The energy-saving premium tires bear the Renault-specific sidewall designation "R". Continental has designed the EcoContact 6 Q tire for particularly energy-saving and low-noise driving. Electric vehicles such as the Renault 5 E-Tech Electric benefit from this in particular.
The specially developed rubber compound reduces energy absorption while driving, thus reducing friction and rolling resistance. In addition, Continental's developers have optimized the tread of the tire. Reduced rolling noise contributes to special driving comfort. Thanks to modified blocks, sipes and lateral grooves, the EcoContact 6 Q has particularly high running and braking performance as well as good handling characteristics. In addition to short braking distances, the premium tire offers reliable grip on dry and wet roads as well as very good cornering stability even at high speeds.
Low rolling resistance, low rolling noise and high mileage are the focus of Continental's tire development. Due to increased load indices, Continental's tires are particularly designed for the higher weight of electric vehicles caused by the battery. 18 of the world's 20 highest-volume manufacturers of all-electric vehicles rely on Continental tires for original equipment.
This line of tires is approved for the Renault 5 E-Tech Electric in the following size in many countries:
EcoContact 6 Q R, 195/55 R18 93H XL
