      "Experiencing Europe"

As part of the initiative “"Experiencing Europe"”, Continental has launched a program specifically for young people. Together with Germany’s Federal Employment Agency and the “Experiencing Europe Office”, which is led by Caritas, we offer jobseekers aged 18 to 25 short internships at our locations elsewhere in Europe. Young people who have not yet gained any professional experience or completed a degree are eligible to take part. The project is a nationwide initiative in Germany which eight further companies have joined.

The aim is to make it easier for young people to access the rest of Europe and thus strengthen the sense of a European community. The program offers an insight into two cultures and two different professional environments through two at least 14-day long internships. “Experiencing Europe” helps young individuals develop both professional and personal skills. In addition to the internships, participants will attend educational and social activities organized by the hosts. This will give them the opportunity to build a cross-national and cross-cultural network. We also see the project as an opportunity to discover potential employees and new talents.

The pilot for the initiative was launched at Continental in June 2017. As part of the initiative "We l.o.ve. Europe" the first participants started foreign internships at Continental locations in Belgium, France, Hungary, Italy, Portugal, Romania, and the United Kingdom. Under the umbrella of “Experiencing Europe,” the plan is for more German companies to now take part in order to enable more young people to access Europe.
