Heartbeat Stories

For One Another is one of Continental’s four values that we live in our daily work. The story of Martin Küppers, Head of Sales VED, AMS, probably illustrates this better than any other. When he and his family moved to Tokyo, Japan, in 2003 to take on a new management role for Continental, he had a challenging time ahead.  A complication during his wife’s pregnancy soon turned family and professional plans upside down.  

Thanks to the support of his boss at the time, Akira Baba, his local Continental colleagues, and doctors, hospital staff and even neighbors, Martin Küppers walked the tightrope between responsibility for his family’s welfare and his responsibility at work. Those memories have shaped Martin Küppers and his entire family to this day.
