Continental and AUMOVIO:

A Shared Story in Pictures

With the planned listing of AUMOVIO on the stock exchange on September 18, 2025, a significant chapter in Continental’s history is coming to a close. To honor the long-standing partnership and shared successes over the past decades, Continental has created a graphic novel – a visual narrative that tells the story of Continental and AUMOVIO from the early days of Automotive in Stöcken over 30 years ago, when the “Automotive Systems” sector was founded, to the present day. The illustrations highlight key milestones, including major acquisitions that shaped Automotive – such as Teves (electronic and hydraulic brake systems), Temic (vehicle electronics) and Siemens VDO (electronic vehicle systems like adaptive cruise control, lane assist and digital tachographs). They also showcase groundbreaking innovations and standout products like pillar-to-pillar displays, future brake systems, high-performance computers and solutions for automated driving.

Joint projects like the “30-meter car” – which could come to a complete stop from 100 km/h in just 30 meters thanks to perfectly coordinated brake systems – and the TechShows are symbolic of the team spirit and innovation that have defined Continental for decades.

With the planned listing, AUMOVIO will now become an independent company. This transition is more than just an organizational change – it is also a heartfelt farewell to many colleagues and long-standing relationships built over decades.

On behalf of everyone at Continental, we thank Automotive for the journey we have shared and wish AUMOVIO all the best for the future!

The drawings in the graphic novel are by illustrator Thomas Andrae.
