      Tire Performance Hackathon

      Let the Good Tires Roll - Shape the Future of Tire Technology

      Tires are much more than just rolling rubber. They produce data from the first minute of their lives. Learn from this data and use your insights to develop customer-focused service solutions to improve tire performance. In this hackathon, we invite you to work with our R&D experts to develop innovative services based on big data. A good opportunity for you to create your vision of tire technology.

      For your arrival and departure costs, we will refund you up to 100€ at the end of the event. In addition, we will of course take care of your meals and accommodation during the event.

      Competition Details

      Your task.

      It’s a long road to optimal tire performance: Which operating temperature is most appropriate and which pressure is perfect for which task? - Digitalization brings new possibilities to answer these questions: the so-called servitization, a combination of digital environmental data and physical information of the tire, should now lead to sustainable service solutions.

      So let’s challenge your data analysis skills, interpretation skills and team spirit. Develop an app with your team that uses big data from tire production. We provide you with real data sets like tire pressure, temperature, acceleration data and GPS coordinates. You have to find connections, analyze them and visualize the results in an app. Your data analysis skills will be just as much in demand as your commitment to finding new ideas and developing a business concept from them. 

      Your skills.

      The following skills are what you need:

      • Knowledge of programming languages like Python, R and Java
      • Skills in one of the following data analysis tools: Pandas, Plotly, Dash, Anaconda, R, Shiny, Keras
      • Knowledge of one of the following programming methods: Data Science Lab, Agile Development, CRISP-DM or ASUM-DM
      • Interest in data science, industrial data, real life applications, tires
      • Enthusiasm for innovation, business development, team spirit and of course the future of mobility
      Your equipment.

      We provide the tires and the data. All you have to bring along is your own laptop – let’s roll!
