New roles – the transformation of the intelligent tachograph into a versatile problem solver

      Web Session as of September 10, 2020 | 9:30 a.m. CEST

The recently adopted Mobility Package I of the European Union has shown how this transformation can be done: A transport policy problem, in this case the control of cabotage, is solved by means of modern technology and the automated exchange of data. However, to ensure full legal security, the data must be totally reliable for all users.

In the future, the intelligent tachograph will fulfill the role of this universally trustworthy data supplier – but transport policy is not the sole beneficiary of the intelligent tachograph data, because companies can also use it to establish new services and business models. Continental has already created the relevant interfaces.

Note: If you consent to the use of performance cookies, you also consent to the transfer of your personal data to insecure third countries (e.g. to the USA). These insecure third countries do not provide a level of data protection comparable to EU standards. There is therefore a risk that the transmission of your personal data may result in state authorities accessing your personal data without you having effective legal protection options.

By clicking the "Accept all" button, you explicitly consent to this. Consent can be revoked at any time by changing the cookie settings. The further processing of data already collected before revocation by the third-party provider cannot be excluded.
